2025 bull sale
MONDAY 16 JUNE
Yes the weather was cold and a touch damp, “…typical Taimate sale day…”, but the atmosphere and anticipation was warm amongst the crowd of around 260-280 people.
We’re so pleased the with amount of repeat of buyers that were able to get what they always get, plus the number of new clients who came, had a look, and took home a bull or 2 or more.
We are absolutely thrilled with last Monday’s sale result of 96/96 bulls sold at an average of $13,531. Key to this was the number of people remarking afterwards how many “great buys” there were at $6000-$9000.
We’ve gone up in number now to 96 bulls this year, up from 88 last year, 81 the previous year and 76 the year before that. As we’ve slowly increased cow numbers we’ve gradually increased the number of bulls for sale, extremely mindful of keeping up the consistent quality. All going to plan, we’ll have about the same number next year.
A Taimate Roy R38 son at lot 11 topped the sale at $62,000, going to Murray & Fiona Curtis at Riverlee Angus in Kimbolton.
Other transfer bulls to sell were Lot 3 for $50,000 to Earnscleugh Angus, and Lot 2 for $45,000 to Moanaroa Angus.
A big thank you must go to the army of people of who help us put on a day like this. It’s a big event to pull together every year, but one we take huge pride and satisfaction in hosting.
